Job Description

Performs general clerical, accounting, and/or receptionist duties for the assigned department. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to answering and directing incoming calls; greeting and directing visitors to the department; performing various general office duties such as typing, filing, or copying; using the computer to prepare purchase orders, pay bills, or enter payroll and leave records; and assisting other personnel, divisions and the general public.


DUTIES:Greets visitors to the department; provides necessary information and/or applications, or directs visitors to appropriate personnel or department; assists with processing of applications/reports; receives and processes fees; Performs general office duties such as creating and maintaining files and records, making travel arrangements, processing mail, maintaining supply inventory, proofreading, filing, faxing, and/or photocopying; Researches and gathers data/information for the assigned area and prepares routine and special reports as required by the job or requested by supervisor. Manages and edits digital content of open records requests.


REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma (or GED) and one year of college or vocational school education in Business Administration or related required (Associate degree in Business Administration or related preferred), with one year of general business, accounting, and computer operation ex perience (depending on area of specialization); or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Applicants are subject to extensive background investigation and they will have to complete a Bowling Green Law Enforcement Application and a Pre-Polygraph Questionnaire.
