Financial Controller needed in Owensboro, KY supervising Accounting Department. 
Starting Payrate: $85/hr
Monday - Friday | Day Shift - but will be on call after hours as needed. 
6 month assignment duration - has possibility to be hirable. 

Responsibilities: 

Safety

  • Understand the importance of conformance with the environmental policy relevant procedures and the requirements of the EMS (Environmental Management System).
  • Understand the environmental impacts associated with their work activities and the environmental benefits of improved personal performance.
  • Understand their role in achieving conformance with the environmental policy, relevant procedures, and the requirements of the EMS, including preparedness and response.
  • Understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.
  • Immediately report any accidents and release to the Supervisor.
  • Recognize that adhering to job responsibilities and procedures regarding environmental, health and safety is a condition of employment.
  • Comply with all environmental, safety, and health rules, policies, and programs established by the company to the extent of training received.

Providing customers with products and services that meet or exceed their expectations.  This will be achieved through:

  • Establishment of meaningful and measurable quality objectives that are subject to regular management review

  • Oversee all accounting processes and financial statement preparation
  • Act as a resource and as a coach as employees have technical issues
  • Own any assigned accounting processes Own assigned closing responsibilities including updating forecasts based on plant input
  • Be responsible and oversee department goals and projects
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual budget process at the plant
  • Organize and participate in cross-training and personal development for the accounting department in order to maximize the value of each individual to the organization
  • Be responsible for understanding the career and development goals for each employee and seek to meet those goals the best you can
  • Keep a customer focus by recognizing that accounting is a service function for both the plant and for Polypore.
  • Participate on and provide leadership to the plant leadership team
  • Mentor and Teacher: Take seriously employee development and work with each individual to maximize their value to the company as well as meet their own personal career goals.
  • Communications:   Serve as a key point of communication of corporate information, plant performance, and provide input on key decisions as a member of management.
Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience with some managerial experience required
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Financial Statement Analysis, and Operation of Accounting Information Systems
