Job description

PEOPLEMARK is seeking a Production Scheduler for our client in Marysville MI. This is a direct hire role with great benefits. This position is responsible for planning material and production related activities to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production. Responsible for scheduling, tracking, and reporting on material issues as they relate to scheduling of production as well as inventory levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001).
  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA. Follows and ensures Company procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Plans and coordinates production activities as it relates to Materials
  • Maintains finished goods inventory level
  • Schedules production to maximize efficiency and reduce overtime
  • Creates detailed production schedules
  • Recommends action plans when required
  • Recommends overtime when required
  • Reviews EDI and manual requirements from the customer as well as client's build plan
  • Creates load schedules for shipments based on build plan
  • Communicates customer schedules, build plan schedules and forecasts to management for manpower planning, financial planning, and capacity planning
  • Monitors movement of empty shipping racks to ensure production numbers are met and follows up with affected parties to ensure a steady flow

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Participate in root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and financial records
  • Resolves supply chain constraints to ensure internal and external customers are satisfied
  • Develops capacity plans and long-term schedules to maximize efficiency
  • Creates and maintains operation procedures and work instructions
  • Communicates to all levels of management (Team Leader to General Manager)
  • Communicates engineering breakpoints to the customer and coordinates the shipment of old and new level material
  • Coordinates engineering change build schedules with Production and Engineering departments to satisfy customer timing
  • Reviews item master, BOM, and routings in CMS to ensure accuracy of planning parameters
  • Participate in the completion of any customer specific assessment annually
  • Practices and promotes continuous improvements of materials processes and seeks cost reduction opportunities
  • Works as part of a team for new program launches
  • Supports year end, quarterly, and daily inventory counts to ensure system and financial accuracy
  • Performs other duties as required

Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management or closely related field. Education can be substituted for experience
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment. Automotive preferred
  • Knowledge of using an ERP system; preferably CMS
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Strong working knowledge of customer-based computer systems (ie. SMART, GM Supply Power, DDL, SUPER G)
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
  • Overtime may be required to meet program expectations
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements
