Peoplemark is seeking a paint technician for our client in Marysville MI. This is a direct hire role.
Role Summary

Under the direction of the paint manager, the paint maintenance technician provides corrective and preventative maintenance on the paint application fluid delivery equipment in an effort to increase uptime and efficiency.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Performs preventative maintenance on paint application equipment to prevent unscheduled downtime.
  • Takes appropriate corrective action to keep paint production operating at its fullest capacity.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs fluid delivery equipment as needed or required.
  • Maintains and rebuilds paint application equipment (paint guns, valves, fluid regulators, pumps, etc). and determines required inventory levels.
  • Requisitions necessary parts and determines required inventory levels
  • Performs daily startup and shutdown of paint system.
  • Performs calibration and operational checks on paint application equipment.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record and works overtime as required.
  • Performs all task in a safe manner according to operating procedures.
  • Performs Washer operation/monitoring duties when needed.
  • Keeps all associated paperwork and equipment history records up to date.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in department meetings.
  • Submits cost reduction and Innovation ideas.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Serve as a member of the Spill Team.
  • Properly package, label, and store Hazardous Waste both from operational activities or from a spill incident (Paint Maintenance).
  • Conduct required daily, or other periodic, environmental inspections.
  • Assist with disposal of scrap materials.
  • Preform other duties as assigned

Additional Information

  • Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Must have good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written procedures as well as mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic prints.
  • Must work well with others.
  • The paint maintenance technician works within an office environment as well as a manufacturing environment. The use of respirators within the manufacturing environment is required. Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending. Must be alert and attentive in order to safely perform the job. Occasional travel may be required.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree or Certificate within the technical or mechanical fields.
  • Must have knowledge and ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
  • 2 years’ experience working with paint equipment and/or mechanical equipment required.
