JOB DESCRIPTION: CARPENTER is responsible to construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. Always demonstrates exemplary behavior contributing to the total team concept of the department.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Measures and marks cutting lines on materials, uses ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
Follows established safety rules and regulations. Maintains a safe and clean environment; maintains records and documents actions.
Selects and order lumber and other required materials.
Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines carpenter's hand tools, and power tools. Removes damaged or defective parts of sections of structures and repairs or replaces, using hand tools. Assembles and fastens materials to make framework or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins or glue.
Installs structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings and trim or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools.
Cleans up worksite debris.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks as required.
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1+ years finish carpentry experience
Drug test and Background check required.
High School Diploma/GED - preferred
TB Test & Flu Shot
MMR Vaccinations
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
