Production LeadProduction Lead Prerequisite: Must be able to train on 1st shift (6 AM – 2:30PM)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for building a well-trained team which is passionate about safety, quality, efficiency, and company success.
Develop, train, and motivate high potential staff in skilled positions to produce bench strength and cross training on assigned line
Demonstrates basic set up and operational knowledge of all line related equipment.
Demonstrate Safety leadership - Enforce safe work practices by requiring proper PPE usage and correcting unsafe conditions. Safety incidents must be reported within 24 hours of occurrence.
Direct hourly production staff by training, coordinating, and verifying daily activities within assigned areas.
Monitor employee performance, productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
Arrives 30 minutes before the start of the shift to supervise and coordinate proper shift start-up.
Must maintain 85% floor presence and 15% admin presence.
Effectively partner with staff from multiple departments: Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance to ensure shared goals are met or exceeded
Reports any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to lead or supervisor.
Meet or exceed company expectations for production performance to maximize sales
Ensure effective and consistent operation of assigned production line
Communicates with Supervisor and other Production Leads during shift operations and shift changeovers.
Direct adherence to regulatory, legal and company policies and procedures.
Provide assistance and direction to line team members to maximize labor utilization.
Reads and tracks production schedules; provides recommendations for changes.
Communicate production expectations, measure, communicate and manage gaps for your assigned line
Maintain required production rates to ensure production goals are met daily.
Ensure quality product and Audit readiness throughout manufacturing process.
Prepare for changeovers as required to ensure smooth, efficient, effective, and complete change-over in the quickest possible time and eliminate errors / potential for re-work
Coordinate with maintenance to determine length of downtime and send home or re-assign team members as needed
Manage production, efficiency, downtime on assigned production line to achieve maximum productivity throughout shift.
Properly utilize labor resources to improve efficiency, minimize labor expense and reduce waste

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Must be willing to work weekends when needed
Moderate mechanical aptitude is needed
• Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint a plus • PLEX – Utilize Plex System
Physical and Safety Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-70 lbs.
Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and all other food safety requirements
Complies with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) requirements
Reports any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to lead or supervisor
Constant walking and standing on hard concrete surfaces
Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, lifting and climbing
Position will require working in very hot and cold conditions
Other conditions include flour dust, wet floors, occasional smoke and fumes if product burns
