Pre-Scaler
Prerequisites for ALL skilled positions:
    • 2nd Shift - 8 hour shifts (12 hour (6 PM – 6AM) shift starting January 3, 2025)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for building a well-trained team which is enthusiastic about safety, quality, efficiency, and company success.
  • Meet or exceed company expectations for production performance to maximize sales.
    • Knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP, and other food process sanitation requirements.
    • Examine product for defects and disposition accordingly.
    • Report any/all food safety or food quality issues immediately to supervision or QA.
    • Perform related duties as assigned by production lead or other leadership.
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    • Assist production lead with changeovers as required (including moving materials, equipment, etc.).
    • Stage pre-scale area with all required ingredient bins in the proper order
    • Verify with mixer that correct ingredients are being used.
    • Accurately mix ingredients based on pre-scale weigh sheet for each batch.
    • Ensure all ingredient bins all full at start and end of shift.
    • Use pallet jack to move ingredient pallets to pre-scale area.
    • Ensure pre-scale totes are ready prior to mixer needing them.
    • Maintain a clean work environment including pre-scale area to freezer entrance.
    • Place empty ingredient bags in cardboard baler.
    • Perform related duties as assigned by Lead Mixer or other leadership.
    • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure all ingredients are brushed/wiped and inspected before being used.
  • Properly utilize labor resources to improve efficiency, minimize labor expense and reduce waste.
    • Rework all product as needed, do not waste product.
    • Notify production lead of any waste issues and/or machine malfunctions.
    • Clean up line continuously throughout shift.
    • Able to work extended hours, available for overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Meet or Exceed the Food Safety and Quality Standards of the Company

    • As a team member of the U.S. Waffle team, you have the responsibility to address any known food safety or quality issue.
    • Report all food safety or food quality issues to QA and Shift Supervision.
    • Implement actions needed to prevent food safety and food quality issues.
    • Meet or exceed expectations of strict adherence to Quality Standards
    • Coordinate with QA to ensure company quality SOPs are adhered to.
    • Demonstrate behaviors of a quality conscious culture.
    • Ensure training is completed for your role and the roles of all team members in relationships to process and quality.
    • Ensure customer specifications are being met through evaluation and immediate reaction.
    • Develop a culture of quality within the scope of their role.
    • Monitor and ensure that all GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP are always met.
    • Ensure production floor is SQF ready EVERYDAY.
    • Follow all safety and OSHA policies and report any issues or violations immediately to a supervisor.
    • Safety is first within our organization. Quality is the second most important aspect of your role.
    • Prevent cross-contamination by following all policies and procedures.

  • Bi-lingual preferred but not required.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work weekends when needed.
