Business Development Manager

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager with proven experience in staffing and recruiting sales to drive revenue growth across the Upstate South Carolina region. This role is responsible for developing new business, expanding existing client relationships, and partnering closely with branch leadership and the Regional Director of Sales to execute strategic growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive “hunter” with strong consultative sales skills, a passion for relationship-building, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth across four branch locations.
  • Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities through market analysis, networking, and prospecting.
  • Grow and retain existing client accounts by delivering value-driven staffing solutions in collaboration with Branch Managers.
  • Partner with the Regional Director of Sales to develop pricing strategies, proposals, and financial retention plans.
  • Generate and present quotes, proposals, and service agreements to prospective clients.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline using a formal, consultative sales process.
  • Attend industry events, client meetings, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of company services, market position, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical action plans for new and targeted accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance metrics.
Basic Qualifications
Education
  • College degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of B2B outside sales experience (required)
  • 2–3 years of business development experience (required)
  • Prior staffing and recruiting business development experience (required)
  • Proven experience with cold calling, closing deals, and managing a structured sales process
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven sales environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated track record of sales success using consultative selling techniques
  • Strong “hunter” mentality with the ability to drive new revenue through relationships and technology
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and written skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams
  • Effective leadership and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while navigating ambiguity
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to meetings, presentations, and events
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting with regular client visits and events
  • Duties include sitting, computer work, phone use, standing, and in-person meetings
  • Occasional bending, light lifting, and reaching may be required
  • Must be able to submit to drug screening as permitted by law
