As part of a kitchen team, you will play an important role in supporting a safe, sanitary, patient‑centered environment while contributing to the overall dining experience for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of specialty dishes (such as shrimp & grits, burritos, chicken souvlaki, etc.) at an open, guest‑facing station.
- Provide warm, professional customer interaction while cooking in front of staff and visitors.
- Maintain strict cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards aligned with hospital and food‑service regulations.
- Ensure all meals meet quality, temperature, and presentation standards.
- Follow all food‑safety guidelines including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Collaborate daily with Food & Nutrition leadership on menus, prep requirements, and service expectations.
- Maintain accurate workstation setup, restocking, and end-of‑shift cleaning.
- Support the department’s commitment to a positive, patient‑focused atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Extensive cooking experience; healthcare or institutional kitchen experience a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a professional healthcare setting.
- Comfortable cooking in front of guests and engaging in courteous conversation.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure during high‑volume service periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow structured procedures.
